These terms and conditions (the "Rules") apply to the Paul Oakenfold Surrender competition (the "Competition"). By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules.

The Competition is organised by Focusrite Novation Inc., incorporated and registered in California office is at 840 Apollo Street, Suite 312, El Segundo, CA 90245 (“Focusrite and Novation”).

There is one prize to be won consisting of the following:

  • 3 nights in Los Angeles, CA for the winner plus a friend! – FREE round-trip flights and hotel (planned for between 22nd & 30th April, 2015) – dates subject to change / flights within the 48 contiguous United States of America only
  • Invitation to attend and perform at Novation's BritWeek party
  • Gear and swag from Novation and BritWeek

No prizes can be redeemed for cash. All winners may be advertised on our Social feeds (Facebook, Twitter, Google +).

To enter the Competition download the vocal stems to Surrender on the Competition page, create your remix and upload it using the form provided.

Entrants may only enter the Competition once and must ensure compliance with the following at time of entry:

  • be a current, active, Full Sail University student to enter
  • must reside in one of the 48 contiguous United States of America
  • have a valid Full Sail University student I.D. and email address, e.g. JDoe@fullsail.edu
  • use the vocal stem of the original Surrender at minimum

The winning entry shall be judged exclusively by Paul Oakenfold.

Paul Oakenfold grants entrants a limited licence to use the stems from Surrender only for the purposes of this remix competition. Paul Oakenfold reserves all of his rights.

If your entry infringes any third party intellectual property rights you may be disqualified from the Competition.

By entering this Competition you give Focusrite and Novation a perpetual, worldwide, royalty free licence to use your Submission in any associated promotional work that Focusrite and Novation deems fit.

By claiming a prize, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. Focusrite and Novation reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.

The email address you provide on the Competition entry form will be used to contact you in the event that you win so please make sure this is correct. If you are a prize winner then Focusrite and Novation may require you to prove your identity including a proof of your address. Examples of identification documents would include, passport, driving licence and utility bills.

By using the Website and entering the Competition (and you warrant that) you are aged 18 or over and that you are not an employee (or a family member of an employee) of Focusrite, Novation or any company (including any subsidiaries) involved in operating or sponsoring the Competition or awarding any prizes.

There is no charge to register for use of the Website.

Focusrite and Novation reserve the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Rules.

The Competition starts at 21:00 EST on 7th November 2014.

The Competition ends at 23:59 EST on 31st January 2015.

Winner will be announced on or before the end of March 2015.

Failure to claim a prize within 1 week of the end of the competition may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Focusrite and Novation reserve the right to substitute prizes for prizes of equal or greater value at any time.

Focusrite and Novation cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize. Focusrite and Novation is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of these, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Competition. Nothing shall exclude Focusrite and Novation's liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.

Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity and Focusrite and Novation reserves the right to use the names and addresses of winners, any equipment the winner may use, their photographs and audio and/or visual recordings of them in any publicity.

Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current US data protection legislation and subject to these Rules will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent. Please see Focusrite or Novation's privacy policy for further details. Data relating to entrants will be retained by Focusrite or Novation for a reasonable period after the Competition closes to assist Focusrite or Novation to operate competitions in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries on the Competition as well as sending information about Focusrite and Novation's products to entrants.

In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of Focusrite and Novation shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

Focusrite and Novation reserve the right to cancel or amend the Competition or the Rules without notice. Any changes will be amended to these terms and conditions.

The Competition and Rules will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. Focusrite and Novation make no representation that materials on the Website relating to this Competition are appropriate or available for use at all locations and it is your responsibility to ensure that by accessing the Website and entering the Competition is illegal or strictly prohibited by the laws of the country you are in.
